Our Story
Lyric Genie was created by Megan Ruthven, a software engineer with almost 10 years of experience at Google. Having worked with innovative technologies since college, Megan was excited to explore new creative possibilities with magical lyric generation.
Megan started Lyric Genie after experimenting with creative music generation. She had countless song ideas but not enough time to develop lyrics for each one. To streamline this creative process, she built a tool that lets you simply chat about your ideas and have fully structured lyrics summoned for you in seconds.
In March 2025, Lyric Genie was created during the Lovable Hackathon and has been continuously improved ever since.
Our Mission
Our mission at Lyric Genie is to make song creation accessible to everybody. We aim to transform creative expression by reducing the time between inspiration and creation, allowing more people to bring their musical ideas to life.
By lowering the barrier to entry for songwriting, we enable anyone to express themselves musically, spreading joy through creative expression and making the art of lyric creation available to all, regardless of technical skill or experience.
